Window Cleaning Tips: The Best Way to Clean Windows Without Leaving Streaks

I found one of the best window cleaning tips for you during my vacation in August 2005. I went to an 'Expo' (Trade Show). One of the products featured was a window cleaner.

At the time - if I had the brain in my head to remember the name of it - I would highly recommend it in one of the window cleaning tips below.

Unfortunately, I did not.

Anyway...

The demonstration of this small window cleaning equipment was amazing. At least I thought so.

It started with a dirty window. Then soap and water was sprayed on the window. The window cleaning equipment was then used.

The equipment is made up of two identical pieces which can connect to each other like magnets. One was placed on one side of the window and the other was placed directly above it on the other side of the window.

As the demonstrator cleaned one side of the window, the other side was cleaned simultaneously.

When finished, both sides of the window was not only clean, but dry to the touch.

Anyway, I think I'm boring you with my story so here are some window cleaning tips that might actually help you now.

Have an Easier Time Cleaning Your Windows With These Window Cleaning Tips

When springtime or the fall season approaches many people generally think about window cleaning tips to clean the outside of their windows.

Today, windows that are installed are much easier to clean and keep clean. There are many window types which allow the outside to be cleaned from the inside of the home due to a fold down method manufacturers introduced in the early 90's.

The cleaning product that most home owners use today is Windex or a similar type.

The product that works best for when discussing window cleaning tips either has ammonia in the solution or vinegar. These are the two most popular.

If it is a traditional window which slides down from top to bottom, then clean the top front first and then the top back of the window since this would be the most logical. Then push the window back up in the right position to work on the bottom half of the window.

Begin with the bottom half of the window outside and then finish the bottom inside of the window. Remember that if these windows have screens, which many of them usually do, you must remove the screen first.

There are also vertical roll out windows like Anderson. Once again remove the screen before beginning any window cleaning.

Using the handle, roll the window so it is open as much as possible. A cleaning tip is it is easier to do the outside first by sticking your hand through the opening between the window and wall. Then roll the window to the closed position and wash the inside of the glass.

For people who have the larger windows which do not open, it would be necessary to clean them from the outside. In this case, a cleaning solution can be sprayed on the glass and then use a squeegee to clean it off.

For the larger and higher windows, a ladder will be necessary when cleaning.
