Organizing Your Kitchen Cleaning Supplies

Organizing your kitchen cleaning supplies starts with going through your kitchen cupboards and drawers and gathering all your supplies together.

Most people use the space under their kitchen sink to cram full of cleaning supplies because it is convenient and spacious. Unfortunately, it is normally very disorganized and messy. Supplies are piled on top of each other, become pushed to the back of the cupboard and even hidden between other items, making it difficult to find the necessary kitchen cleaning supplies.

Not only does this make finding the cleaning supplies you need difficult and time consuming but it often ruins some of the items. Being organized allows you more control over the space where you keep your cleaning supplies and this makes it far easier and faster to clean your kitchen.

Start organizing all your cleaning supplies by removing everything from the kitchen cabinet under your sink. Also, gather any other cleaning supplies together from the other cupboards in your kitchen or bathrooms. Start going through them and throw away any damaged products, old cleaning products or ones you have not used in a while.

Old cleaning products do 'go bad' or lose their effectiveness, so toss them out. Keep only the cleaning supplies you want and need to store in the cabinet beneath your sink.

The kitchen cleaning supplies you will probably need most frequently are glass cleaner, dishwashing liquid, paper towels, all-purpose cleaner, scrubber and disinfectant. You should keep any cleaning supplies that you do not use in your kitchen in a handy storage space in the appropriate room.

Now that your space under the sink is empty, scrub and wash out the cabinet. This is a great time to either add an organizer or place your cleaning supplies in a bucket that fits under the sink. This way all your cleaning supplies are together in one place and easy to transport.

Use a door organizer to store your garbage bags, paper towels and other supplies. If you have small children or pets put a childproof lock on the cabinet you keep your cleaning supplies in to prevent any accidents.

Store your other cleaning supplies, such as mops, brooms and dusters, which do not fit under your sink, together in a handy place.

The more organized you are at keeping your kitchen cleaning supplies well stocked and handy, the easier cleaning your kitchen becomes.
