Descaling faucets

I received a "Limey" www.limey.dk from a girlfriend, a small rubber device that schould help me remove limescale from our faucets.

I was pretty sceptical to begin with because it look rather noughty but I try it anyway.

I just needed to pour in liquid and mount it on the faucet, 10 minuts later the faucet was clean and all limescale was removed.

I found that it work better if i gave the ball a slight push after I mount it, in this way the fluid travel further up the faucet.

Just be carefull if you push to hard it can backsplash.

Cleaning Silver

When cleaning silver, line a heat-proof bowl with tin-foil - shiny side up - and fill with boiling hot water.

Then dissolve a large quantity of soda crystals in the water and place you silver object in and leave for 30 minutes, turning if necessary.

The grime and gunk from the silver will loosen thanks to the crystals and will stick to the aluminium foil. Leaving your silver as shiny as the day you bought it!

Hurried morning grooming can mean a mess later if we're not careful.

If your vanity mirror is dull from hairspray buildup try these bathroom cleaning tips:

Washing the mirror with a solution of clairfying shampoo and water will eliminate the sticky haze caused by sprays.

For a no-lint shine, wipe clean with a lint free cloth such as a cloth diaper or coffee filter.

A cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol will not only help to remove hairspray buildup from the mirrors but will also assist in cleaning bathroom tiles of sticky hair care products.

Cleaning a fluffy rug

We all know how daunting cleaning a rug with a childs vomit or dirt can be.

A tip - rather than using carpet cleaner and scrubbing your time away. Simply take the rug outside and lightly spray with carpet cleaner and spray down with a high pressure cleaner or strong hose a rest to dry.

You will find your rug/carpet is not only clean but smells fresh. Sure you will shorten its life, but its better than putting up with a smelly worn looking rug that looks old anyway.

Cleaning Your Microwave

Don't you hate it when pasta sauce splatters all over your microwave. We've all scrubbed our microwave until our knuckles were sore.

But for a better, faster answer, my advise is to Steam clean your appliance by placing a mixture of 2 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or a few slices of lemon (this helps it to smell better), in a micro-safe container and zapping it on high for five minutes.
