Eliminate Bathroom Odor Completely

It is very upsetting to walk into your bathroom and smell an offensive bathroom odor.

Some of the causes of the odor are clogged drains, mold and mildew, a kitty litter box or just a plain dirty bathroom.

Here are some suggestions and tips that will have your bathroom sparkling and smelling great - quickly and inexpensively in no time.

Clogged Drains

It is no wonder that bathroom drains occasionally clog up with all the hair, dirt, soap and other gunk that goes down them.

A good preventative maintenance tip is every three or four weeks, pour a cup of baking soda down your drains and then a cup of white vinegar.

After an hour, turn your tap on and run some warm water through the drain.

If your drain is removing the water slowly from your sink, plug the overflow openings and then use your plunger to unclog the drain.

If the water is still very slow draining - there are strong chemical drain openers on the market.

Be sure to protect your eyes and skin and only use this in a well-ventilated area. Follow the manufactures directions.

If your drain is clear but emits an odor, pour either bleach or vinegar down the drain.

Cat Litter Box

To eliminate the odor from a cat litter box, rinse the litter box and pour some white vinegar onto the bottom.

Leave for approximately fifteen minutes, rinse with cold water and then dry with paper towel.

The vinegar neutralizes the smell of ammonia, from the litter.

Add baking soda to the kitty litter to control the odor. There are also many litter boxes, on the market, that eliminate cat litter odor.

Mold, Mildew and Dirty Bathrooms

Instead of walking into bathroom odor when you enter the bathroom, eliminate problems such as mold, mildew and dirt.

You will have it smelling fresh, and clean quickly and easily.

A great all-purpose cleaner to use on most bathroom surfaces is a gallon of warm water with a half cup of bleach mixed into it.

This disinfects as it cleans. NEVER mix bleach and ammonia together. Use this on your bathroom ceiling, walls, floor, tiles, toilet, sink, and bathtub.

For mold and mildew, spray one part bleach and five parts water onto the grout and repeat until the mold and mildew disappear.

Putting an air freshener in your bathroom may mask the bathroom odor but you need to find the cause and eliminate it so your bathroom smells as great as it looks.
